Beyond Academics

The Indian Government has set up the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) at NITI Aayog. Realizing the desideratum to engender scientific temper and cultivate the spirit of curiosity and innovation among puerile minds, AIM proposes to fortify the formulation of a network of Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL). ATL is a workspace where puerile minds can give shape to their conceptions by learning innovation skills through hands-on do-it-yourself mode.Young children will get a chance to work with implements and equipment to understand the concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). SSV is the first school in Karur district to setup Atal Tinkering Lab.

ATL at SSV contains edifying and learning kits and equipment on different fields like in science, robotics, electronics, sensors, open-source microcontroller boards, 3D printers, and computers. This would be a great opportunity for our students to discover the scientist in them. Our students have come out with lot of innovations in the field of science.

ELT (English Language Training) Lab

We put a lot of emphasis on developing our students' English Language proficiency. We believe that learning English should be easy, fun and rewarding. We provide an environment wherein the students practice listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through computer assisted English Language Training (ELT) lab.

We regularly conduct competitions like Spell bee, Public speaking, debate, turn-coat, etc. to improve their vocabulary and command over the language. Apart from this we also have 'Zero hour speech' daily that enables the children to come forward and speak infront of the class. We believe that this improves the self-confidence of our children and eradicates their stage fear.

SSV strongly believes in inculcating three major genres of education in a child: Reasoning, Psychomotor and Emotional Learning. Our Sports curriculum are centred around these changing trends and are aimed at delivering a complete education.

We encourage our students to participate in inter school competitions to understand the challenges of the real world. Time and again our children have returned with loads of prizes and medals in competitions held outside the school.

CO Scholastic Activities

SSV believes that "when a child is exposed to various experiences, as opposed to being solely focused on core academics , grows up to be wholesome individual capable of enhancing the quality of life around him/her". These influences are gently introduced into the child's perspective over a period of time through Co-scholastic activities of their choice. SSV provides a wide array of activities including Skating, Yoga, Classical dance, Western dance, Vocal music, Keyboard, Drums, Musical Band, Silambam, Taek-won-do, Chess, Carrom and Art Education.

Spiritual Learning

SSV maintains a strong relationship with Chinmaya Mission.

The members of Chinmaya mission conduct regular sessions on value education which aids in moulding our students into responsible individuals.

Clubs & Societies

The office bearers of the clubs coordinate the functioning of the respective clubs.

The clubs organize events, competitions, expos, rallies, etc. to provide additional inputs and knowledge to the students in their functional areas.

Field Trips

Field trips are out of the classroom explorations into the world in an attempt to learn through experiencing and experimenting, it bridges the gap between reading and reality.

We organize regular field trips to take our students to factories, govt establishments, historical places, etc to give them an opportunity to learn practically.
